Once again we went live on the air on 810 KSFO on a Sunday morning, with the Bay Area's premiere radio talk show about Organic Gardening!  We do this every Sunday at 9:00 am local time, and then post this here podcast afterwards for your on-demand listening enjoyment.  The podcast is identical to the original broadcast, except we edit out all the music and most of the ads.

People call in and ask our host Edie all kinds of questions about growing stuff in the garden, dealing with pests and plant issues, which she cheerfully answers -- and all the while, we seek to keep things as organic as practically possible.

Our guest on the radio program this morning was Kenny Phillips, certified arborist with Davey Tree Bay Area.  We like to have arborists on from time to time to check in about trees and tree issues; this extends to both wild and landscape tree as well as cultivated specimen such as citrus or other fruit trees.  Davey is an employee owned organization with deep roots in the bay area, and the Tanems have worked with Davey for many years for various tree issues, from nurturing through removal.

This podcast is a replay of the live radio show heard on 810 KSFO between 9 and 10 am this morning; most commercials and all musical content have been removed.  Edie Tanem is a certified Master Gardener, and follows in her fathers' footsteps hosting this radio show each week.

Hot off the presses this morning, it's the latest edition of the Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem radio show!  OK so we don't use presses for radio, but you get the idea.

We did broadcast this program live on 810 KSFO this morning, and we attracted gardeners from around the Bay Area and beyond to call in with their organic gardening questions.   Edie also highlights a number of local events of interest to gardeners.   It's all in one action packed hour, with all the music and most of the ads removed from this on demand edition!

Our guest this morning on Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem was Sandi Duncan, who took over the reins as Editor of the Farmers' Almanac a couple of years ago.  This years' edition features some minor changes to reflect Sandi's touch, but as always the Almanac has stories, anecdotes, seasonal and calendar items, and more.  Trivia buffs will especially love this publication -- published annually since the 1800's -- because it's full of fun facts.

Sandi spent the hour with us and gave us a glimpse under the curtain for how the book is curated and the thought processes that are behind it.  The 2026 edition went onsite at farmersalmanac.com and on grocery checkout stands everywhere; it's the orange and green one.

This podcast edition of the radio show is identical to the original broadcast, minus some of the ads and all of the music.  The show is heard live on Sunday mornings from 9-10 Pacific time on 810 KSFO, and streaming on our website at KSFO.com.

It's officially fall now that we've had the equinox, and Edie Tanem noticed the lingering darkness this morning as she prepped for the live radio show, Bob Tanem In The Garden -- heard on 810 KSFO at 9:00 in the morning each Sunday, including today.  We featured call-ins sprinkled lightly across the hour; Edie had conversations with fellow gardeners all over the state, and local Bay Area gardening events were highlighted.
