More evidence that Alysha is headed for martyrdom
In this book Alysha flagrantly disobeys direct orders from her commanding officer, with no signs that she can actually accomplish anything good by doing so, and yet she once again pulls it off. This seems bound to provide her with even more evidence that she can risk herself egregiously and always get away with it. Why is the author allowing/having her to do this to herself so irresponsibly?
Too short!
Clearly it was good, or I wouldn't be craving more, but for all that it did conflict-and-resolution, I felt like I was just starting in on the story when it finished. Still, what we got sets up some interesting things for other storylines in the series and 'verse, and it was an enjoyable read.
Visiting the Pelted
Is always fun. Alysha is my favorite of all the characters we get to meet in this 'verse. This is a fun short story documenting her sometimes suicidal grit and care for others.
I want more
Well written short story of 'classical' SF. I soon lost myself in it and I'm sure I'll read it multiple times, it left me wanting to read more about Commander Forrest, her ship-mates and the universe she lives in.
Wonderful
This is a compelling short story that is an incredibly satisfying read. Everything is explained just as much as it needs to be to create the world. You will want more from this author after reading this!
