John 15:1–17 presents Jesus as the true vine, calling His disciples to abide in Him so they may bear lasting fruit, for apart from Him they can do nothing. He emphasizes that abiding is expressed through obedience and love—especially loving one another as He has loved them. This passage culminates in the call to friendship with Christ and a chosen purpose: to go and bear fruit that will endure.
