John 17:1–19 records Jesus praying to the Father, asking to be glorified so that He may reveal eternal life to those given to Him. He prays for His disciples, that they would be protected, remain united, and be filled with His joy as they live in the world but are not of it. Jesus also asks that they be sanctified by the truth of God’s Word and set apart for the mission for which He is sending them.
