In Mark 9:33–50, Jesus corrects His disciples’ ambition by teaching that true greatness is found in humility and childlike receptivity. He widens their vision of the kingdom, affirming that those who work in His name belong to Him. With solemn warnings, He stresses the seriousness of causing others to stumble and the radical need to deal with sin. The passage closes with a call to purity, perseverance, and living at peace with one another.
