Many immigrants living in the United States are victims of domestic violence and/or violent crime. These victims of DV or violent crime may have avenues to obtain legal status, but sadly, many are not aware of these options. Educating the public about the types of visas available and who is eligible for them is vital to ensuring that immigrant victims are able to protect the safety of themselves and their families. Additionally, spreading awareness can impact the general perceptions about DV and violent crime survivors. Education aids those in immigration communities to recognize the signs of this type of victimization and offers support to the individuals who are suffering from it.Our podcast aims to shed light on the pervasive issues faced by immigrant victims of domestic violence and violence generally.
