In Philippians 1:8-11, Paul prays that the Philippians’ love may grow with knowledge and discernment so they may be able to approve what is right and what is best. This love that Paul writes of is agape love meaning that is it unconditional, sacrificial love. In the same way that Jesus has called us to love, He met us with this kind of love when He saved us. If we want to grow in this love, we need to be saved and grow in our knowledge and discernment. Knowledge and discernment are our guides to grow in our love. Listen to this sermon about growing in love through knowledge and discernment in the second part of our In The Word series walking through Philippians.
