In Philippians 3, Paul pivots sharply from his gallery of self-giving servant leaders to issue a fierce warning about self-serving ones.

The false teachers in the church were pursuing outward religious forms and external achievements — all of it, Paul says, worthless. The true circumcision is a circumcision of the heart, and the true worshiper worships God in spirit and in truth.

When we need to appeal to a leader who is wrong, how we make that appeal matters enormously — the timing, the motives, the attitude, the words we choose. And when that appeal is rejected, how we respond will either open doors or close them permanently.

In this fourth and final part of his message on Philippians 2:29, Malcolm gives more practical guidance on how to make an effective appeal, and how to conduct yourself whether it succeeds or fails. This is, “How to Appeal to Bad Leaders.”

Timothy genuinely cared for the people of God, with a deep, sincere affection. And Epaphroditus, his co-laborer in Christ, gave so much in service that he nearly died doing it. These are the servants the kingdom honors, the ones who pour themselves out for others.
