We were planning a festival overseas and, as usual, our goal was to partner with the local churches to deliver the Good News. But as my wife and I and our kids were sitting on the plane to depart from Washington D.C, a newsflash came on my phone of a major terror threat and noted that the nation we were traveling to was on its highest alert.

We had 200 volunteers and team members traveling with us and we felt the need to caution them. The option to back out was given, yet all 200 decided to go on. We were able to stand shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters to share the love of Jesus Christ.  As a result, many made a first-time decision to follow Christ. The reward for pressing forward was seeing those many souls enter into the kingdom of God.

In the Psalms we read, “The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble" (Psalm 37:39). He will deliver us out of difficulties and dangers. Wisdom dictated that our team needed heightened security. In the end everything came together and it was Christ who proved Himself faithful.

What troubles might be holding you back? Trust in God and keep striving to reach your world. God is your stronghold.
