Listen Later

After two years and $30 million dollars of renovation the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum and Court of Honor will reopen November 3, 2018. A week long celebration will take place culminating on Veterans Day. Listen to Jim Conrad and Erik Biggs from Mackey Mitchell Architects and Karen Goering from the Missouri Historical Society reveal the depth of revitalization and changes which make this one of St. Louis' hidden gems. Walker Hancock, a native of St. Louis, designed the sculptures near the north and south entrances representing courage, loyalty, sacrifice, and vision. He was one of the World War II Monument Men.
