I investigated a blocked bridge near Hiyoshi Springs after hearing reports of Mongol archers terrorizing travelers. Under heavy fire, I had to clear out the snipers hiding in the ravine using both my bow and sword. After a brutal fight, I successfully rescued a young boy named Banta and returned him to his family.
I was still near the peasant's home from last time, and I noticed the area was getting more crowded. People seem to be gathering there as the Mongol presence in the surrounding area grows more dangerous.
A peasant told me that the Mongols had seized the bridge to Hiyoshi Springs. This was stopping anyone from traveling the ravine safely, so I knew I had to go and investigate the situation immediately.
After riding to the bridge, I saw innocent people trapped on both sides. The middle of the bridge was empty except for one person, making it look like a deadly trap set by the invaders.
I spoke to a traveler who explained that while the bridge looked safe, Mongols were hiding in the ravine below, shooting anyone who crossed. His nephew, Banta, was stuck right in the line of fire, which triggered the quest.
I tried to run out and save the boy quickly, but the Mongols started raining arrows down on me. I realized I couldn't get to him without being turned into a pincushion first.
Since I was already detected, I decided to return the favor. I pulled out my bow and started trading shots with the archers hidden in the rocks to thin their numbers.
Once I ran out of arrows, I had to close the distance. I switched to my katana and moved through the ravine to take down the archers who had been pinning me down from the heights.
After clearing one side of the bridge, I delivered a final blow to a fallen Mongol. I wanted the enemies on the other side to see exactly what happens to those who threaten the people of Tsushima.
Another Mongol tried to catch me off guard from the flank, but I took him down before he could fire. I managed to scrounge a few more arrows and picked off some of the enemies across the gap.
I spotted a lone archer trying to reposition as his team fell. I sprinted across the bridge and engaged him in a brutal sword fight, ending the Mongol threat on the far side.
I finally reached Banta and cut his bonds. He was incredibly grateful, showing his thanks for saving him from what seemed like a hopeless situation on that bridge.
Jin advised the boy to head back to his family right away. I had one last conversation with his uncle to let him know the path was clear, successfully ending the mission.
