Hello everyone and welcome to Back-Ali-News, on this episode we’re veering slightly off schedule. As I’m sure many of you are aware, there was a severe outbreak of severe weather over the weekend of March 14-16, 2025, across the states Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. By the end of the weekend, 42 people died during the severe weather outbreak. While we are by no means a weather oriented podcast, events like these pose massive risks to people experiencing housing insecurity. A disproportionate number of the youth homeless population are LGBTQ+ identified and many in the LGBTQ+ community have experienced homelessness in their lives. It entirely possible that a current viewer is experiencing housing insecurity and I decided to dedicate this episode to discussing current rates of homelessness in the LGBTQ+ community as well as sharing resources for finding shelter in inclement weather, specifically Tornados, for those experiencing homelessness as well as what to do if you find yourself trapped outside during inclement weather events. Today we are joined by our guest, Pierce Jennings, a non-binary individual who has lived in Dixie-Alley all of their life.
