What would you say about German legislation (in 1944) that would spare only Jews with mustaches or Jews over 64 years of age from execution? Does this really represent a commitment to principle, or is this political posturing  which, in the end, yields nothing? What would principled federal legislation bring about—perhaps an abortion ban, a ban of funding, or a ban on interstate commerce for the kill pill? What would it look like if Republicans feared God?
