INDECENT BEHAVIOR is a mystery novel worthy of a five-star review. Carylâs superb wordsmithing skills weave an excellent plot certain to entertain the reader. She provides marvelous insight into the key players and the paths theyâve taken throughout the storyline. The dialogue is as real life as you can getâitâs as if youâre a fly on the wall following the course of their most intimate conversations. Her attention to detail makes this a very believable tale that takes mind-control to a distributing level thatâs a rather frightening foretellingâworry not, she doesnât overwhelm you with lots of medical terms.
Many reviewers use the phrase âa real page turnerâ that surely applies because this is a compelling read.

My surprise novel of the year!
What a surprise! This is the most entertaining contemporary novel I have read in decades. Ms.River's work is witty, her characters are memorable and artfully created, and the plot moves forward like a bullet train. I had just finished the NaNoWritMo competition (writers create a 50,000 word novel during the 30 days of November) with 4 days to spare and I needed something to help me wind down. I certainly got more than I bargained for. This is superb fiction writing, and a welcome deviation from the police procedural and espionage novels I usually chose. The romance between the co-protagonists is integral rather than merely incidental to the plot development. It was so much fun to read that it would be easy to overlooked the quality of the writing. While the idea of shadow governments within the government pursuing dark agendas is a bit trite, Ms. Rivers gives it a new twist by casting journalists instead of super heros with sad back stories in the major roles. I loved this book.
Great summer reading. (Probably good winter reading too!)
Always wondered why they call mysteries "thrillers", but this goes a long way towards explaining that. Lots of adventure, engagingly written. Lots of action, a touch of romance and one stereotypical evil villain. Buttered popcorn with just the right amount of salt. An entertaining treat.
A quick and entertaining read!
I enjoyed the adventures of the protagonists and how they responded and handled the roadblocks thrown in their path to solving a big mystery. Great characters and the plot was different enough to keep you guessing about the outcome with a couple of surprises along the way. This book was very well written and I would definitely recommend it to friends.
Page Turner
This was an interesting book and I found myself wanting to keep reading to find the conclusion. As many of the novels the author gave me more detailed medical facts than I needed to understand the premise and follow along but overall it was a good read.
