Indie Launchpad Podcasts

Recorded shortly after the previous podcast, hence why I still have a bit of a cold.

Trying to get two podcasts recorded before vacation, so apologies for any slapdashedness. I did notice there were a few tracks that have a long pause at the end. I would usually edit before posting, but I don't want to invite anything that would have me ending up going down a time rabbit hole, so again apologies.

As always, feel free to get in touch. I’m always keen to hear about your favourite indie bands and what you think of the recent changes to Indie Launchpad. A reminder than submissions can be done directly through the website.

Battling a cold, but I managed to get through the show. As I mentioned if you're a band and you don't have a website, please get one. Be sure to include your tour/gig information. If you do have one, make sure you keep this information up to date.

A reminder that if you are on Indie Launchpad you can claim your artist page and then use that to keep your fans updated. You can also register a domain name and have it forwarded to that address. Porkbun.com is a great website for doing this, as they sell domains at cost, so .com addresses for instance can be had for about $10. I use them for all my domains... and that's not a paid plug.

There were a few intermittent clicks on the previous podcast. I've actually moved to another machine and changed the cable, and initial tests seem favourable, but like always I will listen to the episode once it's released and do some further quality control.

Some fantastic music as always on this weeks episode. Just a reminder, don't forget to check out the artists you love, and pick up a single or album, or two. Always remember there's nothing quite like seeing artists and bands live.

As always lots of great music in this episode.

Lots of new exciting developments on from Indie Launchpad. Artists and bands can now claim their artist page and can also request a page, if they haven't yet been reviewed or featured in a podcast. Full details can be found here.

Podabra, the podcasting tool I wrote and use to record Indie Launchpad is up to version 2.9 and is working well. So well ion fact that this is the first podcast, recorded in one sitting with redoes or edits.

As always lots of great music in this episode.

Lots of new excitring developments coming from Indie Launchpad, which should be available now, including a new artist page, which tracks all reviews and podcast features and a media page for artists and reviews, with HTML snippets and QR codes for inclusion on printed materials. Lots more to come.

Well done England. It was a great performance against France and well done to Spain, who thoroughly deserved to win the World Cup.

Still tinkering on my Podabra software. Just about to release version 2.8.

A reminder you can now create an account on Indie Launchpad, allowing you to comment and rate the release yourself. Soon I'll be adding the ability to comment on the podcasts, so it will be a good place to discuss the music featured.

Apologies for the volume glitches in last week's podcast. Still ironing out some kinks in my Podabra podcast software, which as always is available free to use at website

I discussed a few of the current pitfalls I think artists are falling into. I made a post a little while ago, which I'll link to here.

Apologies. Looks like the podcast feed was defaulting to the old location for podcasts. It's now fixed, but due to the way the RSS feeds work, I've reposted again, just to ensure everyone is able to listen. I'll be sure to double check this for future podcasts.

Happy Fathers Day to all my fellow Dad's. I hope you had/are having. a great day with your family. I finally got a new microphone, but had a bit of a blip when my first segment didn't record, so I had to do a quick edit and splice in the missing bit. Hope it's relatively seamless.

As I always like to mention, don't forget to give all of the bands you like your support. Streaming is good, ubt buying music and going to see live shows is the best support you can give.
