Indigenous Symbolism through Theatre (Year 8 Oceans Assembly)

Listen Later

During their second unit of study, Year 8 theatre students explored indigenous symbolism through theatre. For their summative task, the young actors and actresses were asked to collaborate and create symbolic narrative performances inspired by indigenous art pieces from the Pacific. Their performance also connected to Oceans Week at ISS, seeking to educate and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to care for our oceans. This is the audio recording of the students' performance. Their central message: "The circle begins with us."
