Can indigenous thinking save the world? Tyson Yunkaporta's new book 'Sand Talk' explores this question and is making a big impact. A senior lecturer in Indigenous Knowledges at Deakin University in Melbourne, Tyson is a member of the Apalech Clan in far north Queensland. 
 
In conversation with Rebel Wisdom's Alexander Beiner, he explains how looking back on Western civilisation from an indigenous perspective opens up a new way to look at everything from the economy and government to complexity theory and the culture wars. 
 
With a unique blend of humour, theory and indigenous knowledge, he provides an important new perspective on some of the biggest issues we've covered on the channel.

Iain McGilchrist has been outlining for many years that a fundamental problem in the way we are perceiving the world is likely to lead us into trouble. Now in 2022 he believes the situation is reaching a crucial turning point and we need to wake up urgently.

As he describes it, the power of ever increasing technological capacity (exponential tech) means that both destructive and creative capacities are increasing exponentially.
