Indrakshi Stotram was given first narrated by Lord Narayana and given to Rishi Narad. Narad was seeking a powerful mantra which can keep the entire world and the human beings without any disease throughout their lifetime. Later, Narad gave this mantra to The King of the Gods, Indra. In turn, Indra gave the mantra to Indra gave it to Saint Purandara.
Goddess Parvati is adored as the divine mother in this mantra.
