This year, Indy Vineyard celebrates 40 years of encountering the love and power of God and giving it away to the world.

In this special anniversary gathering, we look back at the people, stories, risks, and acts of faith that have shaped our church since its beginnings in 1986. Founding pastor Betsy Jackson and longtime members and leaders share memories of worship, healing, ministry to the poor, and the ways God’s presence has remained at the heart of Indy Vineyard through every season.

As we honor those who came before us, we also look toward what God will do through the generations to come, holding our plans loosely, holding tightly to God’s word, and continuing to seek His presence together.

In this message from the Already and Not Yet series, Adam explores the reality of spiritual conflict and the authority of Jesus to bring freedom. Drawing from Matthew 12, he looks at Jesus’ picture of binding the strong man and plundering his house, reminding us that the kingdom of God has already broken into the dominion of darkness—even as we await its fullness.

What does Scripture teach about demonic influence? How can the enemy gain a foothold in our lives? And how do repentance, the authority of Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit lead us into freedom? As we learn to recognize the conflict between these two kingdoms, we are invited to participate in Jesus’ work of setting captives free.

What does it mean to seek first the Kingdom of God?

In this opening message of our new Already / Not Yet series, we explore Jesus’ central proclamation that the Kingdom of God has come near. The Kingdom isn’t simply the church, heaven, or something we experience someday—it is the active rule of God breaking into the world here and now.

Through Scripture, stories, and practical examples, we consider what it looks like when God’s Kingdom becomes evident through love, healing, freedom, reconciliation, and people coming to know Jesus. And because the Kingdom is already here but not yet present in its fullness, we are invited to keep seeking it—even when we’ve prayed, waited, or hoped for a long time.

How might our lives change if we began each day asking where God is at work and how we can join Him?

In the final message of our Paraclete series, we explore how the Holy Spirit empowers ordinary people to continue the ministry of Jesus. The Spirit not only forms us to become more like Jesus in character but also gives us gifts that allow us to live and act like Him in the world. And at the center of both is love—the source, means, and goal of everything the Spirit does through us.

Drawing on the Vineyard conviction that “everyone gets to play,” we consider what it means to recognize what the Father is doing and take the risk of joining Him. The gifts of the Spirit aren't reserved for pastors, experts, or especially spiritual people; the Holy Spirit can give any gift to any person at any time for the sake of others. Through stories of prophecy, prayer, healing, and unexpected moments of God’s presence, we're invited to listen for the Spirit and respond with faith.

Where is the Father already at work around you? And are you willing to join Him?

In this message from our Paraclete series, Randy explores the Holy Spirit’s work of forming us into the image of Jesus for the sake of the world. The Spirit works within us to produce the fruit of Christlike character and works through us to release God’s love and power—two dimensions of life with the Holy Spirit that are meant to remain together.

But transformation isn’t something we accomplish through effort alone. Randy considers how practices like Scripture, prayer, and especially silence help us cooperate with what the Holy Spirit is already doing. As we learn to quiet ourselves, surrender our attention, and remain with Jesus, we create space to receive rather than strive—to let God do the work of transformation.

On Baptism Sunday, we celebrate four individuals going public with their faith in Jesus. As part of our Paraclete series on the person and work of the Holy Spirit, we explore the meaning of baptism—being immersed into God’s life, identifying with Jesus in his death and resurrection, and publicly declaring a commitment to follow him. Adam Kasel explores the characteristics of revival found in 2 Chronicles 7, looking at historic moves of God and the call to humility, prayer, seeking, and repentance. What does it look like to truly surrender to God? How can gratitude reshape the way we see our lives? This Youth Sunday, two student speakers share biblical wisdom and personal testimony that will encourage you to live more grateful and surrendered lives.
