If you are interested in seeing wealth inequality at its greatest, look no further than the stock market. Stocks are, far and away, held more by the top 1% of wealthy individuals than the rest of us. This angers some people and makes others call for taxation of wealth, but it is something that just continues to create a gap between the top and the bottom when it comes to U.S. household wealth. It is hard to say what we should do about it, other than take our spot in the ownership of stocks right alongside the wealthiest individuals.
