If we try to count all the blessings that God has provided us just for a single day there is no way we can wrap our heads around so many 

There are blessings that we can fathom and ones that we cannot even grasp

Site, sound, touch, smell, taste

We think we have only five senses but we have so many more

• being able to feel pain

But for us this is all normal so we forget 

When you woke up this morning did you thank God when you took your first breath and life was resurrected back into your body

All day your lungs will be breathing pulling in oxygen and energy to your body

16 hours of your day your eyes will process all the things that you see in the world

your legs will walk thousands of steps

When you went to the fridge and you grabbed breakfast 

• Milk

Microwave or stove 

That your stomach and intestines can operate and extract the nutrients you need without any willpower on your part

Maybe you took a shower and in a few seconds you have fresh clean water at the perfect temperature for you 

Then you got into your car where you can adjust the temperature and travel faster than you could ever on your feet without breaking a sweat 

That you live in a world with laws and human rights that you are not fleeing from the lion or tiger struggling to survive 

I am pushing air through my lungs and vibrating this air as it is passing my throat to sounds that are bouncing off the hairs in your ears that is vibrating your ear drums then translating those vibrations to an electrical signal that is being sent and deciphered in your brain to language and a message 

Habituation 

• Can you smell your nose?

We get used to all the infinite blessings that God has given us 

Remember you did nothing to deserve any of these blessings…

We remember God when we lose it...

Old Man And His Eyes

A man reached 75 years of age and started having problems with his eyes. He could not see. He went to the hospital and he was diagnosed, and the doctors informed him that he was in need of an operation otherwise he would never be able to see again. He agreed to have the operation done as he truly missed being able to see like he used to. When the operation was completed, his doctor gave him the bill which covered all the costs. 

The old man looked at the bill and started to cry. Upon seeing this, the doctor told him that if the cost was too high then they could make some other arrangements. The old man said “I am not crying because of the money but I am crying because God let me see without any problems for 75 years and He never sent me a bill.”

We are more blessed in history than ever before yet we are more miserable

Happiness = expectations - reality 

Set the right expectations you have everything and deserve nothing

• Person at the gym who was recovering from a bone infection

The angels said send them all to Hell 

• Let’s say I give you $1M then take $500k back 

Think of the movie you had low expectations for - 

Why are movies on planes so much better  

Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment

~25mi is the thickness of the earth’s crust 

Equivalent of the skin of an apple compared to the fruit 

Under the 25mi is molten rock - a sea of lava - at 4000 degrees Celcius  

On this thin crust of the earth you put a piece of dead wood into the ground add some water and sunlight and out comes delicious fruits and vegetables 

Have you thought of that out of dirt comes an apple, orange or watermelon 

We have been conditioned that this is all NORMAL

There is nothing normal about this
