Inflation set to rise further despite latest increase
June's inflation figure of 2.9% saw a 0.2% increase on the figure in May, but the latest rise was still below analysts' expectations.
James Hughes from the trading floor of Alpari says they had expected a larger increase in the consumer prices index, whilst the Bank of England recently confirmed they predicted inflation would have to go up before coming back towards its 2% target.
