Ingrid Newkirk is the president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal liberation organization in the world, and PETA entities have more than 9 million members and supporters globally. 

 Ingrid has authored 13 books and been profiled by The New Yorker, the Los Angeles Times, and Fortune, which dubbed her the “Mother Teresa of rabbits.” She was also the subject of HBO’s award-winning documentary I Am an Animal and was named one of Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Women.  

  PETA opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview, and focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in laboratories, the food industry, the clothing trade, and the entertainment business.
