Ο Αιγόκερος περιφρουρεί το μυστικό της ψυχής, το μυστικό της κρυμμένης δόξας, που αποκαλύπτεται στο μαθητή στο αποκορύφωμα της τρίτης μύησης, στη μεταμόρφωση της προσωπικότητας από την ψυχή στην κορυφή του όρους. Αυτή, όμως, η μεταμόρφωση μπορεί να επισυμβεί μόνο ως αποτέλεσμα προσπάθειας, της ικανότητας να ανέλθουμε πάνω από τους περιορισμούς της προσωπικότητας, να επιμένουμε στην ανηφόρα παρά τα εμπόδια και τις δυσκολίες. Δεν υπάρχει εύκολος δρόμος προκειμένου ένα άτομο να απελευθερωθεί από τους περιορισμούς του εγωισμού και της χωριστικότητας. Ούτε υπάρχουν παράδρομοι. Είναι μια μακριά, επώδυνη διαδικασία κατά την οποία μαθαίνουμε τελικά, βιωματικά, ότι η αυτοπειθαρχία, ο αυτοέλεγχος και η αυτοθυσία συνιστούν τους θεμελιώδεις λίθους της μαθητείας.

Σε αυτήν τη βάση μπορεί να αναπτυχθεί, η υπερδομή ενός υπεύθυνου, εγκάρδιου βίου, που αντανακλά τις αξίες της ψυχής. Ο Αιγόκερος, κατά συνέπεια, είναι το εξέχον ζώδιο της μυήσεως.

Capricorn guards the secret of the soul, the secret of the hidden glory, revealed to the disciple at the climax of the third initiation, the transfiguration on the mountain top of the personality by the soul. But this revelation can occur only as the result of effort, of the ability to rise above the limitations of the personality, to persist on the upward way in spite of hindrances and difficulties. There is no easy way for an individual to free himself from his own limitations of selfishness and separateness; and there are no short cuts. It is a long, painful process in which we learn eventually by personal experience that self-discipline, self-control and self-sacrifice form the foundation stones of discipleship.

On this foundation the superstructure of a loving, responsible way of life, reflecting the values of the soul, may eventually develop. This growth in consciousness becomes the way of initiation, the way to the mountain top, towards the supernal light which reveals the soul as the real Self, the Plan as the responsibility of discipleship, and the spiritual Hierarchy of the planet as the center of love into which initiation admits the accepted disciple. Capricorn is therefore the outstanding sign of initiation.

The new moon period is a time of pause wherein together we can establish a soul-mind-brain alignment. During this period we work in thought to concretize the ideas and impressions received at the time of the full moon period and undertake the sometimes difficult process of translating them into practical plans that can be of service in the world.

The meeting includes an exploration on the theme, The Power of Right Speech, and the Power of Sound, followed by a meditation.

Triangles is a simple meditation/visualization practice that can be fit into the busiest of schedules. Three people form a group and agree to link each day in thought. They visualize a triangle of light and goodwill being formed between each of the group members.

Sagittarius provides a point of balance in which the vision is consciously deepened and meaningful activity expanded. In meditation the steady eye is developed which perceives clearly the higher spiritual values, prior to loosing the arrow of mental power with purposeful intention towards the goal to be achieved. This is the quality as it develops, which will carry humanity through the portal of initiation.

In reflection during this Festival we work with a clear, will-inspired energy, on a beam of directed, focussed light; a light so compelling and one-pointed that the next immediate goal to be achieved by the human family stands fully revealed. That goal is a world condition of right relationships between men and between nations; of cooperation and sharing between all peoples, races and ideologies; and the right distribution of the world's resources, which belong to all humanity. As extremes of all kinds are eliminated, and moderation and reason become descriptive of humanity, the word "united" may begin to approximate its true meaning within the assembly halls of the United Nations.
