In this our 3rd episode in our special series on the Inner Voice, we dive into looking at a strategy that has been shown to help us to calm the chatter that can derail us.
We know the harmful effects on our mind, body and relationships of chronic stress and whilst a noisy negative inner voice isn't the cause, it's often present. If we can learn to turn it down and therefore reduce it's power, it can help in our management of our moods and stress.
In this episode I talk about one strategy that has been studied extensively and that I have used frequently with my coaching clients and that works for many! The great news is that it is a strategy that is simple, easy and quick and that you can use right now!
Make sure, however, that you listen to the end, as there is a caveat that you won't want to miss!
I reference the work of Ethan Kross, Chatter, 2021 - well worth a read!
