Cherie B Mathews is Founder and CEO of the Austin, TX based company, Healincomfort. She built this company to solve a problem faced by breast cancer patients who undergo mastectomies. Cherie discovered this problem when she herself underwent the procedure, and experienced extreme discomfort with the abrasiveness of regular apparel, and the difficulty securing the tubes and drains that accompany such a surgery.

Innovation is what Cherie does. She’s been innovating and solving problems her whole life, from her career at IBM, to special projects for NASA, to building companies and applying her drive to reimagine normal, and make it better. Cherie had recently built a national program to bring the sport of golf to public schools, and use it as a vehicle to mentor and inspire youth. She brought this momentum to the challenge faced by surgical patients, and created the now patented shirts specially designed to offer comfort, practicability, and dignity to people facing one of the biggest struggles of their lives.
