Roger consults on the continuum between future thinking, strategy and innovation to introduce opportunities to organisations to create advantage.

He became a Senior Fellow (non resident) at the Scowcroft Centre at The Atlantic Council in late 2020, and in early 2020 he was appointed by Ministers to the Digital Council of New Zealand Aotearoa.

Roger likes to discuss why forming strategy without knowing about the future is like pouring coffee without a cup. In addition he also likes to talk about why a strategy without an innovation capacity is akin to walking very slowly on the same spot.

He has worked in a range of sectors including telecommunications, infrastructure, energy, transportation as well as advising governments on foresight.
