Insane Facts About North Korea with Mike Eshaq

Listen Later

This episode we’re doing a deep dive on the most insane and secretive country on earth, North Korea. We start the episode with a brief history of how North Korea was founded, its early ties to the Soviet Union, and how it eventually turned into the isolated and totalitarian nation it is today. We look at some of the truly bizarre rules and customs, like how every visitor is required to pay homage to giant statues of the Kim family upon arrival, and pay a visit to the Sinchon Museum of American War Atrocities (which is essentially a giant wax museum of Anti-American propaganda). And, we dissect some of the most bizarre and insane laws North Koreans have to abide by, such as: all denim jeans are banned because they are seen as symbolic of The United States and instead of celebrating Christmas, the country has a nationwide celebration of Kim Jong-un’s grandmother.
