Insecurity in NIGERIA

Listen Later

We discussed the reasons Nigerians in DIASPORA are mostly successful. We also gave tips on how the Nigerian government can help Nigerians to be successful in Nigeria. Build on infrastructure and security in other to lift Nigerians out of poverty. It is a common knowledge that the first duty of a good government is to ensure public safety. Now, what is a government? and what are the functions of a government to its citizens?  A government is an institution through which leaders are enabled to exercise power, make laws and enforce laws. In other words, government is an Institution where policies are created by policy makers and if adopted; those policies become laws. Leadership involves taking responsibilities PERIOD!  A good leader is expected to take responsibility for whatever is happening GOOD OR BAD!  In Nigeria currently, the citizens are lacking the most basic things that a Nation’s government owe as responsibility to its PEOPLE. That’s is basic Infrastructure and Security. No matter the part of the world anyone is living government are primarily tasked with providing security and infrastructure to help facilitate smooth running’s of human activities to sustain their day to day lives. The Nigerian government need to provide electricity which is the basic infrastructure Nigeria people need to connect with the world. Infrastructures include; Bridges, roads, water supply, Power lines electrical grids, telecommunications among many others.  When a country has so much bad roads criminal activity increases because the bad roads help promote their nefarious activities as a matter of fact, we cannot detach the current herdsmen problems from lack of infrastructures.  We all know that nefarious behaviors thrive under the darkness. There is so much darkness in Nigeria and the roads are bad. Then what do you expect??  The lack of infrastructures by government has continued to promote all these criminal activities happening in Nigeria.  Am old enough to remember how despite criticism of Obasanjo as a leader he was the one who facilitated access to mobile phones in Nigeria. At Lokoja I met a fish seller who gave me her account number after I bought fish and I had to transfer money into her account.  Because of access to technology I could pay her on the spot using my smart phone which she confirmed right away on her smart phone. Think about how access to that simple technology gave her the possibility to grow her business from that obscured location; without needing to be in diaspora.  Nigeria leaders, you can change the future of Nigerians by investing in infrastructures and the security.
