As we approach our fourth weekend of college lacrosse action, what do we really know? Some teams look like legit contenders, and some hyped contenders look very pedestrian. Do we know anything yet? All we can be sure of is that it’s way too early to crown a champion, and a fool’s errand to write any team off before the end of February. 

One thing we can definitely be sure of is that there is a gourmet feast of action this weekend. SEVEN bouts featuring teams in this week’s KANE Media Poll from Inside Lacrosse, as 14 of the Top 20 matchup across the box on sidelines this weekend. That is ridiculous. D-Fly and Dixie are here to get you set for this smorgasbord of lacrosse.

This week’s guest is Owen Duffy from North Carolina. The 2024 ACC Freshman of the Year and a pre-season All-America attackman joins the guys to give a Chapel Hill perspective on the start of the season. As the No. 9 Tar Heels get set to take on No. 3 Johns Hopkins at Homewood Field on Saturday, Duffy talks staying positive as he rehabbed his season-ending injury, lessons learned from his athletic parents, the tradition of St. Anthony’s lacrosse, beautiful Ithaca, New York, new faces in Chapel Hill, the best place to eat in East Quogue and much more.

Incredible schedule of seven Top 20 matchups concentrated between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Let’s get it.

In this week’s cheese-themed Give & Go, the guys talk cheese trays and give a ranking of the best cheeses available.

Chris Rosenthall and Kevin Brown recap the 2025 Championship Series with Boston getting the clean sweep for PLL and WLL silverware. Rosie and Kevin discuss the adrenaline rush from the epic Cannons semifinal win, heap some praise onto Matt Campbell and Colin Kirst, give shoutouts to the training staff plus react to the debut of the Women's Lacrosse League, and the Charlotte North effect. From takeaways for the Chaos introductory press conference for coach Roy Colsey and GM Spencer Ford to a couple free agents who may have played their way onto a roster via their Championship Series performances, player movement starts now as we set the stage for all of it. Other topics include the evolution of Sixes defense in guarding the 2-point arc, the New York Atlas semifinal hurdle, and the build up of WLL star power throughout the week.

IL's Terry Foy and Nick Ossello are joined by IL Data Specialist Patrick McEwen, a.k.a. @LaxFilmRoom, who watched Richmond's upset over Virginia and helped the boys dive deeper into not just how the Spiders made it happen, but what to make of each team going forward..

From there, Foy and Ossello talk about Maryland's impressive defensive display vs. Syracuse, Hopkins come-from-behind one-goal win over Loyola, head to Holuba Hall for the Tailgate Hero of the Week and then quickly whip through ’Nova's upset of Yale, freshman goalie Grayson Manning coming on for Denver to flip their game vs. Utah and finish with some gas for the Andrew Baxter era at Fairfield.

If the first two weekends of the 2025 season felt like small-plate tapas, then this week we get the full meal. The Ivy League and Notre Dame (almost half the Top 10) finally join the party, making their 2025 debuts this week. The all-you-can-eat buffet includes 37 games on the menu from Friday to Sunday. Sure, almost all the games are scheduled at noon, but let’s get it!

It's Week 1, which means the season is officially underway? And, of course, drama follows. The highlight is from Salt Lake City, where Delaware survived a stick check to their face-off guy with 2:00 remaining, which set up the most dramatic ending of the season. To talk about the Blue Hens' debut win, IL's Terry Foy and Nick Ossello are joined by former Delaware captain and assistant coach, who watched the game on a phone with 25 former teammates in the Wells Fargo Center as another fellow Hen, Mike Robinson, took on the Wings with the Halifax Thunderbirds.

From there, Foy and Ossello talk about Maryland's OT win at Loyola, Carolina's impressive showing vs. Michigan, Hopkins' week-long marathon capper vs. Georgetown, plus Virginia and Duke wins.

The first weekend of the 2025 season went mostly according to script. With more teams making debuts and 32 games on the slate, will this week bring the drama, upsets and stunners we all love? They’ll take a big picture look at the opening weekend, recap mid-week games including Hopkins nail biter with Towson and of course look ahead to the second weekend of the regular season.

While the show’s regular guests will generally be the current stars of the college game, the early part of the season always affords for a variety of discussions with interesting luminaries from across the sport. This week’s guest certainly fits the bill as coach Seth Tierney joins Dan and Mark to talk about his Hofstra Pride, taking the reins of the men’s national team for US Lacrosse, his leadership role with the Premier Lacrosse League and much, much more.

The 2025 season gets officially underway with 17 games on February 1, and D-Fly & Dixie are back in the saddle to help get you acclimated and excited for the new year. Despite two-time defending champ Notre Dame again claiming the top spot in the IL Media Top 20, the main theme of this new season is fresh faces. The historic cohort of experienced, record-breaking household names have departed, ushering in a new era in college lacrosse. Have your team rosters and game notes ready for early season games.

As seems the case every year, there are some rules changes to understand. Two significant changes center around replays and face-offs. Who better to talk face-offs than TD Ierlan, arguably the greatest face-off athlete of all time? Ierlan and Dixie break down why the rules were needed and how the new face-off mechanics will work. In addition, the guys talk about preparing for a long season, coaching the face-off, TD’s college experience playing for three legendary coaches and which college team gets the most love on spring Saturdays.

There are 18 games this weekend, with 17 on Saturday. Are you sitting down, because you aren’t going to believe this. Practically all of the games (13 of the 17 games) are at noon. Ugh. How hard would it be to schedule games spread out from noon to 8 p.m.?
