We leave the ice and head to the baseball diamond and catch up with, Associate Head Coach of Baseball at Columbia University, Dan Tischler. 

Dan breaks out his early days of playing baseball with his older brother and the fun he had playing with him. 

His game took hold at Horace Mann School in the Bronx and played with Pedro Alvarez who was drafted in the second round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. 

Dan tells of how he had to be proactive when it came to getting college coaches to notice him. He laughs and tells the story of how he had to send out VHS tapes of him pitching to schools. He decided on attending Franklin and Marshall. I asked him why that was a good fit for him for college and he said he connected with the coach. 

We talk about the adjustments he had to make as a college player and what the "step up" was like from high school baseball to college baseball.
