Mike Sullivan talks about his beginnings in hockey outside of Boston and all the fun he had with his dad and friends playing hockey. He talks of playing other sports with his friends and how that helped him in his development as an athlete and person. 

The discussion moves to his time at Boston College high school and how it prepared him for Boston University and playing for Jack Parker. He learned a great deal from Coach Parker and what it takes to play at the highest levels of the game. 

One interesting thing in the discussion he was drafted by the New York Rangers in 1987, 69th overall,  after his freshman year but decided to stay in school for four years and how it helped him to preparing him for the NHL and life. Great story on how he found out he was drafted by the Rangers.
