Part Three:
Mike talks about fast tracking to the NHL as a head coach and then had to take step back and become an assistant coach in the NHL. Felt he needed to learn from a coach who had had success and that coach was John Tortorella. He worked with and learned from "Torts" and what he needed to do to be ready for when the next head coaching job presented itself. In 2015 took the head coaching position with the Wilkes Barre Penguins in the AHL, felt it was a good place to get back as a head coach. Was only there for 1/2 season and came up to coach the Penguins and win back to back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017.
