Inside the Human Rights Council – a conversation with Ambassador Federico Villegas, 16th President of the Human Rights Council

Human rights are a burning issue at the centre of the international arena because they are fundamental to humankind. The interpretation and respect of human rights and the response to their violations depend on discussions held annually by the Human Rights Council that convenes in Geneva. Ambassador Villegas was President of the Council in 2022, one of the most challenging years on the body's record.
