Topic: INSIGHTS INTO PSALM 23 - PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS (Part 10)!
Memory Verse: "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you" - Exodus 3:14 KJV
Bible Text: Psalms 23:6 KJV
6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
INSPIRATION: David was very sensitive in the Spirit and seized the opportunity of a divine moment to prophesy to himself. He declared God's goodness and mercies into his future. He wasn't going to take chances or make assumptions. In the realm of the spirit, there's no room for assumptions! Too many believers dwell in the sphere of assumptions and refuse to take charge or responsibility for themselves.
David didn't leave his destiny on the knowledge that God is his Shepherd so He would do for him what he (David as a shepherd) does for his sheep. He secured his future with a prophetic declaration, "Surely, goodness and mercies shall follow me..." When you come into a divine moment where portals of the Spirit are open, what you do with it matters a lot.
Learn to seize such rare moments to seal deals in the Spirit! This was what David did! Did God's goodness and mercies follow him? Undoubtedly, it did. Bibles even has a description it calls the "Sure mercies of David" (Isa. 55:3). Else, how do you describe a man who was surrounded by battles all his life but lost none! How do you reckon with a man who became king and his throne was established forever in Israel, if it wasn't for God's mercies?
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
David had made his boast in God, which was a kind of worship, and it opened up portals. An insensitive person might have wasted the moment but not David. What do you do with your divine moments?
PRAYER: O Lord, I take a cue from David and know how to seal deals in the Spirit! I'm a prophet over my life and as I decree, You'll honour me. Thank You, Lord, for equipping me with the tools for victorious living. Be glorified forever, in Jesus name.
