More often than not feeling like a burden is tied to other issues such as low self esteem, depression, guilt and other feelings that are overwhelming for us to handleWe in turn believe that if those feelings are an overwhelming burden on us, then it makes us an overwhelming burden on others.Feeling like a burden is usually a symptom of a larger problem, not the root cause of the problem itself.Determining the reason for feeling like a burden is the key to addressing the root cause of the issues we face.
Many people that go through an episode of depression feel like a burden to others.Often individuals who live with depression struggle with feelings of guilt.It seems to be linked intrinsically with depression and how someone with this illness perceives themselves.They may express how they feel worthless and a burden to the people that are caring for them.
Often as carers, we find ourselves saying,“There is nothing to feel guilty
