POPI, a broad-ranging Data protection act was passed over 2 years ago by Parliament in Cape Town, finally now the act is being actively implemented by both regulators as well as businesses as of last week.

POPI is broadly aligned with new and also upcoming regulations from both the EU and from individual states within the USA such as California.
