Are you going through a storm in your life? It may be that the idea of singing "Raise A Hallelujah!" in the middle of a pending tragedy or when one is going through mourning sounds weird.  I personally do know the challenge of giving praise to God, Almighty when facing sad news. It's not easy!

How can I praise Jesus when I am hurting? My mother is in a nursing home with dementia? How about "Our children are in the hospital and could die of a nasty viral infection?" If I took the time, this list can easily grow. The idea of praising God when one is suffering seem to be a natural contradiction.

Does praising God in the middle of a storm really work? Yes, it does work, and I'd like to share my perspectives on this challenging endeavor. It is certainly possible; especially if you ask God for help.

Some time ago, I read a book called "The Five Families".  If you do not know, the book gives a detailed history of the Mafia in New York City.  I got interested in this because of things happening in my family.    Here's what I did not expect.  In this video I will be sharing how this thick volume of a book helped in understanding my own father. Do you know that God has a calling on your life? I was never a fan of the idea of sitting in the pew and twiddling my thumbs. There is more to our walk with Jesus than simply accepting Jesus, as Lord and Savior.

Yes, God does have a plan and a purpose for each one of the sons and daughters of God. I repeat. What is God calling me, into doing? I've some people who say "Your mess is your message!" Is it? Let's talk about that.

When it comes to fear, no one is exempt. For one person, it could be something trivial. For the other person, the fear could be the size of a mountain.

What are you afraid of? What is holding you, back? You do not have to let fear hold you back. With God's help, you have the power to overcome your fears.

Get ready for an earful! The other day, I saw a post from Pastor Greg Locke and I did not give it, much thought. Then I read the comment section. What is with the shaming? The actual blog post will be calmer; however, I felt a need to verbally express how I felt about what I'm seeing.  How are we showing the love of God by shaming others?

Have you ever rode on a tandem bicycle, before? As a child, I did ride on one and it's quite fun.  The more sighted person would sit on the front seat and I'd sit on the back seat. Do you suppose that I contributed nothing to the biking experience? Think, again!

Though it has been 40+ years ago, I can still recall the person in front saying "Hey- Barry! You need to contribute! It would be a lot more fun if you help!"  He is quite right. Such bikes are a lot easier when both individuals are cooperatively working together.

Did you know the same principle applies to one's walk with Jesus? What would it look like, if you were on a tandem bike with Jesus? Who's really in the front seat? I'd like to share my perspective on this idea. This topic is inspired by a message I heard on Sunday, at my home church.
