inspired by her 006: Adia Barnes- Resilience and finding a “work-life fit”

Listen Later

The awesome woman we have on the show this week is Adia Barnes. She just completed her first year as the University of Arizona Head women’s basketball coach. This interview was recorded in the Fall entering into her first season. She was hired to come back to her alma mater and change the culture. Her vision is encouraging and her past has prepared her to take on the new challenge that she faces. She shares about her mentors, how she has pivoted in the professional world, and how she has developed a tough skin.
Adia has no lack of success on her resume. She had an illustrious career at Arizona leaving there as the all-time leading scorer in program history as well as Pac-10 player of the year and first team All-American her senior season. Adia went on to play professionally for 12 years including a WNBA Championship with the Seattle Storm in 2004. She also served as the Seattle Storm’s TV analyst and color commentator for radio broadcasts.
