Inspiring Interview With Bevin Niemann
Today's interview is with Bevin Niemann.
Six years ago, Bevin Niemann set off on a mission to uncover the burning questions – who am I? Who do I want to be? What should be my work in the world? During a fateful moment in a meditation group, she heard the term ‘sensitive’ and after a bit of research everything clicked. She learned that she was a highly sensitive person (HSP) and an empath.
Her first thought was, 'I want to meet others like myself'. So, she launched a sensitive Meetup group, which has since grown to over 500 members. After teaching over 30 group workshops about sensitivity, she pursued a new career in life coaching. It was a great fit for her decades of teaching, leadership and mentoring skills, honed as a former Vice President of a 50-year old nonprofit organization and managing a million dollar real estate portfolio. She studied for the past four years with the Center for Transformational Presence and officially launched her coaching and mentoring business, Perceptive Souls in 2016.
Last year, she launched the Global Cooperative for Sensitive Leaders, which now has 250 members from five continents. She created this cooperative as a think tank, where HSP professionals can connect and form unique collaborations. Her work is moving in a new direction she calls: Leadership for a New Era. Many sensitive people have incredible leadership abilities, but are often reluctant to step into a role that might be overly demanding, require them to make decisions that go against their values or stay in workplaces/organizations with a lot of politics, conflict and game playing.
Bevin believes our world is at a crossroads and it’s time for a change in how we embody leadership. She knows leadership is not just for the top, the elite and those ‘in power’. She's mentoring HSPs and empaths, writing and advocating for sensitive leadership to be recognized at all levels.
