Lou is a professional drummer, physician associate, entrepreneur, and speaker.

LouSantiagoJr.hasalreadyhadaremarkablemusicalcareerthatisthestuff urbanlegendsaremadeof.BorninNewYork Cityin1976,Loudidnotpurchasehisfirst drumsetuntilhewaseighteen.Aftertwo yearsofeighttotwelvehoursofdailypractice, hequitplayingandjoinedtheNavy-intenton earningtuitionmoneytoattendthe Drummer'sCollectiveinNewYorkCity,now knownasTheCollective.Fiveyearslater, duringhislastyearofenlistment,Loufinallypickeduphissticksagainand, incredibly,aftereightmonthsofpracticing,wonthe2001GuitarCenterSouth EastRegionalDrum-Off,placinghim7thinthenation.Twoyearslater,in 2003,hewontheover18agedivisionofModernDrummer'sworld-wide "UndiscoveredDrummer"contestandsoonaftertouredwithlegendary trumpeterMaynardFergusoninhisBigBopNouveauBand."Louisiswithout adoubtoneofthemostexcitingnewyoungdrummersonthescene.Heis dedicatedtohiscraftandIlookforwardtowatchingtheprogressofhis career!"-MaynardFerguson. Sincethen,Louhasgoneontoworkwithsomeoftheindustry'sfinestartists, suchasJohnBenitez,AdamNitti,AlexAcuña,LuisConteandmore. Inadditiontoperformance,Louhasapassionforteaching.Hehasbeena successfulmasterclassclinician,inspiringandinfluencingdrummersofall agesbothinEuropeandtheUnitedStates.HighlightedinModernDrummer Magazine,Lousayshisgoalis,"Tobecomeabetterpersonanddrummerthan Iwasyesterday.Isincerelybelievethatmusicbothinspiresandspeaksto people.Ipraythatmydrummingdoesthesame.” In2008,Loulaunched99centdrumlessons.comwhichwasthefirstofits kind.Thesiteconsistedofonlinedrumminglessonswhichaveragedbetween 15-20minutesinlengthbeingsoldfor$0.99.Despiteitsinstantaneous success,Louwouldlatertakethesitedownasasacrificeinhopesto reintroduceituponcompletionofalargervisiondespiteknowinghewould loseprimaryonline“real-estate”.Thebiggervisionwastoincorporate medicinewithdrumming. Despitenotbeingtakenseriously,Loubelievedin hisvisionandbeganthejourneytobecomeahealthcareprovider. In2010,LoubeganhisundergraduatestudiesinBiomedicalSciences. He graduatedSummaCumLaudein2013.Whileawaitingacceptancetoa programinPhysicianAssociateStudies,Louwascalledtoaseven-monthtour withSeventhDaySlumber. LouwasacceptedandattendedCUNYSchoolof MedicineandgraduatedMagnaCumLaudeinJanuary2019. 2 PresentDay Currently,Louisabusinessowner,educator,andproviderinseveralareas withthefoundationsbeinginbothmusicandmedicine.Theyarethe following: 1.) 99centdrumlessons.comhasreturnedand isestimatedtomakeafulllaunchsummerof 2023. 2.)
