Mental Health Amidst Dual Pandemics

While the world has been dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, Black people have been dealing with the continuous effects of racial injustice. The pandemic and politics of our nation spotlights the need for additional conversation on the mental health of Black people to survive. IA will explore the importance of mental health and the intervention strategies that will need to be considered.

(Part II) On the heels of America facing a racial reckoning post-the murder of George Floyd, academia has been forced to examine its role in perpetuating racism and anti-blackness as illustrated with the hashtag turned movement:#BlackInTheIvory.

Amplifying the voices of Black women in the academy, IA will explore this topic and the structures that need to be put in place for Blackademics to not only survive but thrive in the academy.
