In what would have changed the tides and set a precedent when it came to image right protection, the Court of Appeal dismissed the case between the Appellant Oluwadamilola Banire v NTA-STAR TV Network Ltd stating that the claim for image rights and the torts of passing off did not apply and that the ownership of the copyright in the photograph belonged to her employer Virtual Media Network Limited.
