Becca and Ted welcome you to their podcast.
Today we continue our series on Life Hacks, and with it, our tips and tricks for our favorite hobby: travel!
As opposed to a to-do list for travel, we focus on the planning side and how we prepare to travel, as Becca shares her knowledge of what she’s picked up over the years.
And if you like what you hear, and want to talk some more about it, reach out to us and we can share Becca’s spreadsheet, as well as tech recommendations from Ted!
After recording and editing, we realized that we left a few tips out of the show and are including them here:
TSA Pre-check/Global Entry: it is worth it, children are free, and there’s a chance a credit card you have may cover the cost!
Travel Insurance: Get it! You never know what may happen, and we’ve heard some awful stories of those who did not.
Fighting jet lag: if you are crossing several (or a lot!) of time zones, stay up when you get there, eat dinner , and go to bed at a normal time. In other words, push through the urge to go to sleep!
Group tip: if you have several adults (or teens!) try designating a photographer each day. If we are constantly taking pictures, we lose the moment, and you’ll get some great candid shots, as well as the traditional photographer in the family gets to be in some pictures!
Travel agents: USE THEM! No matter how good you are at planning, they will save you time, money, and stress. We know some good ones if you need a hook-up.

Today we kick off our second season where we focus our attention on intentional living through life hacks! Our first topic is a popular one: taking full advantage of credit card points and miles. There’s PLENTY more information out there, and this episode is more to give you an idea of what goes into the Points Game. Here’s a list of resources mentioned in the episode or that Becca suggests looking over.
"Beginner Guide" from a teacher's perspective - simple introduction, think of it as a "quick start" guide, and their information on Instagram and newsletter is especially valuable for those who have limited travel dates - https://linktr.ee/pointsandmilesteachers
10x course (the most all encompassing course on points and miles)- https://10xtravel.com/course/
10x travel podcast called Takeoff - episodes one through six - same information above, in a podcast form, available where you listen to podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/takeoff-a-points-and-miles-podcast-by-10xtravel/id1692979366
A 3 year plan - don't want to try to figure out which card is next? here's a three-year plan to build up your points and miles treasury and the order to apply for cards in https://katiestraveltricks.com/3-year-plan/
A warning: Points are constantly being devalued, and the landscape seems to be shifting more and more lately - https://youtu.be/QJaWurbYnpM
A note: If you are ready to get started I would love to share a referral link with you! Or ask someone in your circle, they will learn referral points!

Today we wrap up season one of our podcast with a fun interview with our daughters. We pepper them with questions, they salt the earth with their responses. Or tell jokes. They are teenagers after all.

Today we are covering a list of unique parenting ideas we implemented. Some you may have heard of, or even tried yourself. Others may be new to you. Either way, we explain the why behind our choices, and remind you to be intentional in your decisions, whichever they may be.

Today we focus our attention on our parents, sharing the wisdom we gleaned from them during our childhood. None of these are direct instruction from our parents, rather the modeling of a Christian life.

On today’s episode, we share a short list that each of us came up with separately reflecting on the adjustments we would have made with the power of hindsight. We are going into this blind of each other’s list, so intrigue is sure to follow! Plus: a live Rock-Paper-Scissors match!
