In Part II of my presentation "Intergalactic Totalitarianism", I discuss the final political machinations of Palpatine during Episode 3, and the social and emotional elements involved with his galactic domination plan, which centers around the dark side turn of Anakin Skywalker.  Stay tuned for Part III which will finish off a few remaining elements of the Palpatine's prequel trilogy plan before diving into the totalitarianism present in the Original Trilogy Era.
