An interloop abscess is a localized collection of pus sequestered between the loops of the small intestine, typically walled off by the omentum, adjacent viscera, and adhesions. Because these infections are partially contained rather than free-floating, they often present with more insidious or subtle symptoms compared to generalized peritonitis.
