What governs our behavior if there is no one there to punish us or at least keep a record of our wrongs in order to blackmail or manipulate us? A list of rules is a list of the minimum requirements to keep us from being punished...yet we often would rather have a list of rules to follow because it seems to be easier to manage a list of rules than to manage freedom.Jesus had to leave so that Holy Spirit could come and dwell inside of us! His Presence in us will produce a fruit called, "Self-Control"...not God-controlled, Jesus-controlled, Holy Spirit-controlled or even pastor-controlled. God's desire for us can be found in Psalm 32:8-9.
