Nothing is more enjoyable for a techie than to discover a new trick, so today's tip is for those that have yet to discover IFTTT.com IFTTT stands for If This Then That and it's an awesome free tool that can leverage your various web-based accounts in a very powerful way, by creating something resembling a macro. For instance, you can use one of the 'recipes' that are posted to send a reminder to your smartphone when you click on the star in Gmail messages or text your spouse when you're leaving the office, automatically! This platform works with hundreds of online services and lots of users have already created very useful recipes for you to start using right away. If you really get into it, you can share your own recipes as you find new ways to use the tool. It's not confined to your computer either, as apps are available for all your mobile devices as well.
