This week Dr. Elizabeth Hayes Alvarez talks about history, religion, teaching and a whole lot more. Dr. Alvarez studies and teaches American religious history at Temple University. Her first book, The Valiant Woman: The Virgin Mary in Nineteenth-Century American Culture was published in 2016 and considers the broad devotion across Christianity, both Protestant and Catholic, to Mary.
