Applied Generosity

Intervention Part 3 | Growing in Fruitfulness

Listen Later

How do we move from good intentions to generosity that truly lasts?

In this episode, we turn our attention to fruitfulness—the question of whether our generosity is actually producing meaningful, lasting change. Fruitfulness invites us to slow down, reflect, and learn over time.

Rather than assuming our efforts are working, we’re invited into a posture of humility that asks better questions, pays attention to outcomes, and grows in wisdom through experience.

In this episode, we explore:

  • Five stages of growth in fruitfulness: indifference, idealism, introspection, investigation, and impact

  • Why early passion often outpaces understanding—and why that’s a normal part of growth

  • How disappointment or failure can become a turning point rather than a dead end

  • The role of asking thoughtful questions and learning from evidence

  • Three practical tools that help guide wiser giving: theory of change, impact measurement, and accountability

As we grow in fruitfulness, we begin to see generosity not as a one-time act, but as a long journey of discernment. We’re reminded that God uses both success and failure to shape us—guiding us toward generosity that reflects His wisdom, patience, and care for real transformation.
